July 3rd Wedding

I shot a wedding on the 4th of July weekend.  As much as I like the money, it landed on July 3rd.  I like to enjoy holidays with family and friends, but after trying to find another photography to do the wedding and having it fall throught I decided to do the wedding.  I feel the wedding could have gone better than it did, but overall it went well.

My assistant and backup photographer is usually my wife, but she was unavailable this weekend helping a friend move, so I employed her sister Cassidy as my assistant and back up photographer and I have to say, she is a quick learner and did pretty well for her first professional photoshoot.  I’ll post some photos after they have been edited.

Cancer tattoo to Cancer Logo

Well, with more thought, I have come to the conclusion that what I designed is Graphic Design and not a tattoo.  I had the inclination that that was true but it took my sister-in-law, a future Graphic Designer in training, to confirm that a bit more.  So, it shall be a logo and only a logo.  I’m not a tattoo artist, I’m a Graphic Designer.

Cancer Survivor Tattoo

I’m thinking of getting a tattoo for my cancer survivorship.  On my way to see a friend get his tattoo done I thought of an idea of getting a tattoo myself.  I’ve never thought about it before and have never liked the idea of having a tattoo, but just the thought of getting one that meant something to me and how I survived it hit me.  I would design my own tattoo.  I’ve had several ideas run through my head and have played with those ideas and so far have nothing to show yet.  I don’t want to have a large tattoo, but I also want to have writing and to have legable, I feel that it may have to be larger than I am hoping.  Where to get it will be the next question.  I’m thinking on the arm towards the socket so it won’t be noticed when at work.  But that is still debatable.  Will update.
